Spiced Apple Cake with Caramel Drizzle

Ingredients:

  • 200g of all-purpose flour
  • 100g of granulated sugar
  • 50g of brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 100g of unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 medium apples, peeled and chopped
  • 50ml of milk
  • 100g of caramel sauce for drizzling

Instructions:

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a baking pan.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, spices, and salt.
  • In another bowl, cream the softened butter with granulated and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk. Mix until just combined.
  • Fold in the chopped apples gently.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Let it cool for a few minutes before removing from the pan.
  • Drizzle warm caramel sauce on top before serving.
