Ingredients:
- 1 cup of green lentils
- 4 cups of vegetable broth
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 medium carrot, diced
- 1 teaspoon of cumin
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- ½ teaspoon of pepper
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil

Instructions:
- Heat olive oil in a pot over medium heat.
- Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 2 minutes.
- Add minced garlic, diced carrot, cumin, salt, and pepper. Stir and cook for 1 minute.
- Add lentils and vegetable broth to the pot.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let simmer for 2 minutes.
- Remove from heat and blend the soup until smooth, or leave it chunky as per your preference.
- Serve hot.
