Beef Tenderloin with Red Wine Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 300g of beef tenderloin
  • 100ml of red wine
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon of fresh thyme, chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions:

  • Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Season the beef tenderloin with salt and black pepper on both sides.
  • Add the beef tenderloin to the skillet and sear for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until cooked to your desired doneness.
  • Remove the beef from the skillet and let it rest for a moment.
  • In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and thyme, sautéing for 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Pour in the red wine and deglaze the pan, scraping up any brown bits from the bottom.
  • Allow the sauce to simmer for 3-4 minutes until it reduces slightly.
  • Slice the rested beef tenderloin and serve it drizzled with the red wine sauce.
